HOW YOU CAN FINANCE CONSERVATION BY DOING YOUR REGULAR ON-LINE SHOPPING

We know you are not rich, and even if you were, you can't continuously hand out money to all those hundreds of equally noble causes that knock on your door for your donations. Of course we do need money for our favorite conservation cause Adopt A Ranger and for maintaining and continuously improving our websites on birds, mammals and nature. BUT, we don't ask want to ask you for donations as we know you are flooded with requests. But I think we found a perfect solution on how you can help finance our conservation cause, while benefiting yourself as well. Look how it works:

We created a dedicated domain on which we host a website managed by Dubli. Dubli is an online corporation that facilitates on-line shopping and auctioning. For any purchase made from this website, Dubli donates us 30% of the sales revenues, while it does not cost you a penny extra. In fact, sales originating from there, have all sorts of bonuses and discounts. You will find the following categories:

  1. Automotive

  2. Books, Music & Movies

  3. Clothing / Apparel

  4. Computers & Electronics

  5. Department Store

  6. Flowers and Gifts

  7. Grocery & Gourmet

  8. Health & Beauty

  9. Home & Garden

  10. Jewelry & Fragrance

  11. Office Supplies

  12. Pets

  13. Restaurants

  14. Sports & Outdoors

  15. Toys & Children

  16. Travel

  17. Webstuff

In each one of those categories you will find a list of anywhere from 10 - 100+ shops on-line. Some are typical online specialists, like Amazon.com or Tiger Direct. Others are the on-line divisions of your regular shops in the mall, like Sears, Lowes, Wall Mart, etc. You will find litterally hundreds of well-known and brand-name shops. Only the fact that you can access so many shops on-line from one single website is a great convenience. Here you have all those shops together at the click of a mouse. You can search and compare products conveniently. When you click on a store, you access their own website but it takes along a code, that tells that store they have to pay a certain percentage to Dubli to be dedicated to us. And every month Dubli donates us the money to be used for conservation.

But that is not all. Most of those shops provide discounts and/or "Dubli points". Each point is worth $1 and can be used for all sorts of purchases from the domain. How all this is possible? I don't have a clue! How in the world is it possible that you can get great discounts and benefits while we are getting 30% of all purchases? But then, who cares? We all benefit. You get convenient shopping with discounts and benefits for almost any product that you can think off. Our nature conservation programs get financing, which will help fights climate change and and the conservation of species. So why don't you give it a try. If you like it, bookmark this page and come back when you need to make a purchase.

Before you go there, there let me point out that there also is an interesting auction facility. I am not an auction guy, so I first told you about the possibilities of regular on-line shopping. If I want a product, I go straight for that particular product and look for the shop that provides me the product that I want. However, the auction page continuously offers opportunities that end up going for just a fraction of the on-line price in shops. They call it reverse auction and works with points. It is a bit funny how it works, but actually it is lots of fun. The website explains it all, so I suggest you spend a few minutes browsing and reading to understand how you can save yourself a lot of money. In fact, Dubli thinks that their auction page is so good that they put in on the front page. On the front page you will find a button "Xpress". This butten opens the options "Unique Bid" and "Shopping". Here are your options from these pages:

Shopping Xpress Unique Bid

I hope you enjoy shopping on our domain http://www.birdlist.com

As a last remark, you should be aware that WICE and Adopt A Ranger don't sell any products from the website http://www.birdlist.com . All transactions take place under the responsibility of Dubli and the corporations that it links to.

Only the USA and Canada

For the moment we have acquired a partnership only for North America. If this turns out to be a success, we will also enter into a partnership for Europe.

Registration

You have to register on line. That is free. Dubli likes to sell you their points, which you need for the auctioning. I suggest you first just only register. For shopping you don't need points and by shopping, you earn points. When you find yourself tempted by auction, buy yourself some points and get those great deals. Of course, we also like you to buy points, but only if you really want them. So please be conservative and just buy what you need.

For years, I kept this website rather anonymous. But then it occurred to me that maybe, you, the visitor, would actually enjoy knowing who and what is behind all this. I am Daan Vreugdenhil, have a PhD in conservation ecology, and dedicated my career of 4 decades to the conservation of nature, for which I visited some 80 countries and learned 6 foreign languages, my native language being Dutch. I have always felt that conservation is a passion, not a profession.

As a child, my father would take me on the back of his bicycle into the meadows in Holland, where he taught me to identify birds and plants. I caught frogs, butterflies and lizards as pets (yes, most of those poor critters died shortly after). As a teenager, I joined a youth club for nature study, riding my bike every weekend with my fellow club members to nature reserves in the Netherlands where I grew up. Little wonder, when time came I studied ecology and natural resources management.

I guess, I never got over my love for nature, wild places, forests, deserts and wild animals. I still love hitting the trail, kayaking down a river, the wind in my ears when skiing down a slope or riding my speed bike. Often people ask me if I don't get tired of traveling. But how can one ever get tired of the beauty of the bright colours of Indian Fall, the thrill of an eagle soaring the sky, the thunder of Iguaçu Falls, the fragrance of a spring flower, a Sky Lark announcing spring, a herd of elephants roaming the plains. My entire life has been dedicated to the conservation of nature.

This website is my gift to you, so you can follow me in my passion and carry on the flame of conservation, the result of more than a decade of work for which I never got paid or never received any subsidy at all. If this website in any way was useful to you, then I invite you to make a donation to the  Adopt A Ranger  Foundation. The Adopt A Ranger Foundation has become my latest contribution in my quest to save 10% of our planet as a home for animals and plants. I also invite you to join me in this uphill battle on Facebook where I created a profile specifically dedicated to promoting more field staff in national parks.

Disclaimer

Please be aware that WICE and Adopt A Ranger don't sell any products from the website http://www.birdlist.com. All transactions take place under the responsibility of Dubli and the corporations that it links to. We can have no influence over disputes, as the website merely hosts the Dubli website from which all transactions are carried out. Don't send us emails regarding purchases, good or bad as we simply can't help you.

Our Methodology explains how we produced our information. Our Site Map helps you find your way in the website. We made this website out of passion for conservation. We simply want to contribute to conservation. If you appreciate our work, PLEASE visit our site Adopt A Ranger and see how you can make a difference for conservation most effectively: By paying one day of the salary of a ranger, you will make a difference in conserving the lives of thousands of birds, other critters and entire forests. Enjoy!
